This month Friends For Good launched their national campaign to begin the conversation about loneliness. There has been a lot of coverage, especially in the international media, about the negative health effects surrounding loneliness and isolation. We know it impacts health and wellbeing and that action needs to be taken to combat loneliness.

We think there are a lot of Australians who are lonely and need support to find a path out of that loneliness, but we want to know more.

We launched the Time We Talked campaign to get people talking about loneliness as we know it’s hard to talk about and there is undeniably a stigma attached to this issue. We created a short anonymous survey to ask people about how often they feel lonely and to tell us more about their experiences.

Right now Friends for Good lacks the resources to launch a national empirical study into loneliness but this survey is an important first step to start the conversation and gather some much needed data. We want to understand loneliness from the perspective of Australians and this survey is a crucial way we can begin to do that.

We encourage people from all walks of life to get behind this campaign, take 5 minutes out of their day to do the survey and share it with friends and family.

It’s #TimeWeTalked about loneliness and we need everyone to get talking.

Follow the link to our anonymous survey and please share this on social media.
