Friends for Good

So much of our dialogue and learning is city-centric. We gather together in places far from rural communities.

This can limit our understanding of the challenges that are faced in relation to social isolation and loneliness outside of cities, or the great solutions that may have been found to overcome these problems. We are planning to explore new ways of knowing and thinking in this space.

Friends for Good, in partnership with the Centre for Participation, invites not for profit organisations, government, researchers, students and all those interested in a dialogue about loneliness, whether from Australia or internationally, to submit abstracts or expressions of interest for involvement in our upcoming national conference: The Australian Loneliness Dialogue: Exploring the Rural Experience.

Although the conference will have a particular focus on rural and regional perspectives, there will also be an opportunity to present research, workshops or other presentations about loneliness more broadly. Abstracts and expressions of interest to participate will be accepted based on relevance of the content, available space and overall program balance.
